Material Girl by Madonna for Macy’s is Rockin’!

The upcoming Macy’s collection from Madonna (& daughter Lourdes) has been in talks for quite some time now and we have to say we were definitely a bit skeptical…but after some adorable sketches surfaced, and more recently a sneak peak at select looks, we have to say we are not only super excited but incredibly impressed by the amazingly affordable and fabulously edgy yet easy to wear pieces! The exclusive line, entitled Material Girl, is set to hit 200 Macy’s doors, as well as Macys.com, on August 3rd and will include apparel, footwear, handbags and jewels retailing under $100 (the majority being under $40)! As if the clothing wasn’t good enough already, they’ve also launched an interactive website where you can enter to win a chance to meet Madonna and Lourdes at Macy’s Herald Square on Sept. 22nd when they officially launch to the New York market. As with all brand new, recession-friendly priced, celebrity-designer collections, we have a feeling these cute little motorcycle jackets and floral skirts will sell out at rapid rates so be sure to stay on top of them!

Mu’u mu’u’s are back & better than ever!

A perfect little package arrived this morning with a sheer gingham garment called “Hatchet”…it is just one of the many genius creations from gorgeous duo Cammy & Cologne, founders of the new phenomenon, Show Me Your Mumu. We’ve all heard stories of our mothers dancing around outdoor concerts in their mu’u mu’u’s, though until recently we never thought we would see them resurface. Not only have they made a comeback but we’re pretty sure once you try these babies on you won’t want to take them off. Versatile, super chic and oh so comfy, the lightweight tunic-esque frocks are perfect for everything from a day at the beach (talk about cute cover-up) to a night on the town (throw on a pair of chunky platform wedges and you are definitely good to go). The New Go-To Bag…Oversized Day Clutches!

The best part of getting ready for a night out on the town was always picking the perfect clutch to finalize a fabulous outfit…until now! We are so excited that we no longer need a reason to grab one of those puppies and run out the door…clutches are no longer just for night time (& the infamous walk of shame), they are now just right for just about anything! In all kinds of shapes and sizes there are endless possibilities for working clutches (preferably oversized clutches) in to your daytime wardrobe but we’ve found that our favorites for summer are those with tons of color. The New Shoe In Town…Brian Atwood!

Move over Manolo…there’s a new man in town (and we have to mention that he just happens to be as beautiful as his shoes) Brian Atwood has been on our radar for a few seasons now but his Resort 2011 collection just may be his best yet and with all of the screen time his babies got in SATC2 B. Atwood is definitely the shoe designer to watch at the moment!

Movado Invented Black & Gold & Made Watches Chic Once Again!

Watches were never really our thing, until they recently started popping up in all kinds of fabulously masculine, glam-rock styles that no longer made us feel like tomboys but rather like super chic, strong, individual power women. Though there are a few that rock our world right now, our absolute favorite look is the heavy yet glamorous combo of Black & Gold…done perfectly of course by the originators themselves, Movado. The perfect accessory is actually, for the first time (for us at least) as functional as it is fashionable!
