Daryl Feril Beautifies Fave High Fashion Logos
We were just introduced to Daryl Feril via Trendland, one of our favorite new spots for daily inspiration, and instantly feel in love. “Mixed media illustrator Daryl Feril uses a process of illustration, watercolors and graphic design to exhibit these recognizable fashion labels. Keeping with the aesthetic of each brand Feril represents Chanel’s classic black & white palette, Alexander McQueen with the essence of darkness and romantic elements, which we see from the McQueen label each season, and Yves Saint Laurent with a sophisticated feminine elegance in the soft color palette and flowing lines,” Colette GUSH.
Style Chameleon: Poppy Delevigne
We have always felt as though there are some serious misconceptions on the idea of personal style. Though everyone should have a clear understanding of who they are and what they love when it comes to fashion, that definitely does not mean that your personal style should be categorized, every true fashion lover has had many style moments from bohemian to prim and polished to rock and roll to all american and so on and so forth. And so we’ve decided that those who inspire us most are the world’s true Style Chamelons, icons who are not afraid to take risks and to play with garments, transform themselves with simple ideas, and experiment with the vast array of beauty within this incredible industry. So we bring your our very first Chamelon, the unbelievably beautiful and super chic, Poppy Delevigne.
J. Crew…We Seriously <3 You.
We knew that J. Crew has been rocking out the last few seasons, but we definitely didn’t know that each look they so brilliantly put together to showcase their Fall 2012 collection would so heavily inspire us to dig deep down in to our mix-it-up selves and begin a whole new wave of eclectic style moments. From tailored menswear & leopard heels to feminine floral silks & sturdy stripes, we are totally digging the the entire vibe and cannot wait to play with their awesome new pieces. We seriously <3 you J. Crew.
My Little Fashion Designer!
We are totally obsessed with artist Mari Kasurinen‘s brilliant My Little Pop Icon Series – there was a place in every girl’s childhood heart for My Little Pony and what better way to translate that to grown up life than to covert these adorable handheld animals in to true works of fashion art. As of now there are only two in Kasurinen’s designer series, My Little Vivienne Westwood (above) and My Little Karl Lagerfeld (below) – both are absolute insanity and obviously already sold. Hopefully the artist will hear our calls and work on some more fashion icons momentarily. AMAZING.
eBay Announces Designer Collaborations!
High street was put on the map when H&M and Target began collaborating with some of fashion’s most celebrated designers to bring accessible “high-fashion” to the masses. Last week, Neiman Marcus revealed it was teaming up with Target and 24 CFDA designers including Jason Wu, DVF, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta and Tory Burch to create a limited edition holiday collection ranging from $7.99-$500. And this week, eBay announced it will be collaborating with Billy Reid, Chris Benz, Fallon, Jonathan Adler, Ruffian, Steven Alan, and Tibi on a holiday collection.
“Designers realize that the retailers need unique product so they are much more open to doing that,” retail and brand consultant Robert Burke told WWD. “Multitasking is something designers have gotten used to. I suspect you will be hearing things in the next few weeks.”
The eBay collection will launch Novermber 12th, comprised of 40 gift-worthy items ranging in price from $50 to $100 spanning everything from home goods to clothing and accessories.
Stylebistro.com asks “What do you think about all these designer collaborations? On one hand, it’s nice to be able to get a high-end designer’s creation for a fraction of their usual brand pricepoint, but at the same time, do you think it dilutes the luxuriousness of a brand? Did you feel differently about Missoni after its massive collaboration with Target, for example—or Marni after its blow-out H&M collection?” and we couldn’t agree with them more, we ARE a bit torn over the saturation of high-low designer collaborations…how do you feel?
The New Beach Bod…
With the fabulous days filled with sun and sand brought by the warmth of summer, comes the pressure of getting back in to our dreaded bikinis, the one downside of soaking up the sun, cocktail in hand. Yet despite the teensy beach bodies past years have proposed, this season’s got a brand new idea of looking good and we are finally looking forward to the getting our voluptuous butts on the beach – thanks to the likes of some of the sexiest celebs out there from dark beauties Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry to blonde babes Brooklyn Decker and Scarlett Johansson, curves are back and better than ever. Men and women alike are digging the new look, taking us back to the days when bombshells Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot ruled the world. With real inspiration filling everything from the big screens to the magazines, we proudly following in tow and are all about embracing our female bods, curves included. So this time around you may want to consider swapping your lipo budget for a boob job and make sure you fill out your suit this summer, the times they are a changing.
The Many Dresses of Diane at Cannes
Diane Kruger has been a long-time inspiration for us on the fashion front. She is gorgeous in everything from tuxedo to train, never afraid to take risks and always carries herself with the utmost class in any outfit and every situation. Yet after years of setting trends, this style star is just now getting some much deserved attention from those outside the industry after turning heads in dress after dress at the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival. From the Mint silk chiffon Giambattista Valli that swept the carpet of opening ceremony to the statement making Christian Dior that made waves at closing…Diane did it right every step of the way and we definitely want to join in to celebrate some of her best looks…gush.
