The myth is that with the shortening and lengthening of hemlines comes the rise and fall of the economy respectively – as a young girl, every time I would open the pages of vogue and say, “mini’s are back!” my mom would reply, “that’s a very good sign!” and as the opposite would appear on the racks as would mom’s smile…yet we think this year will in fact prove it’s just an old wives tale at most, as maxi skirts are back with a vengeance and yet pockets are definitely filling up again (at least until the skirt shopping begins that is).  At least we can justify our new investments…floor sweeping skirts mean less reason to shoe shop and cotton is always cheaper than leather.  Not sure how to rock the trend?  Check out some of the most inspiring Maxi Skirt looks and always keep in mind that heavy neutrals compliment everything.

The Ultimate Child’s Play: Hermes Coloring Book!

$130 for 24 pages…Pshh, that’s nothing for the ultimate life lesson – everyone should embrace their inner love for Hermes no matter how young or old. And while coloring books are definitely made for children, we’ve found the youthful hobby to be quite soothing, so until there are kiddies in the picture we may just need to make some selfish Hermes coloring book purchases for ourselves while they’re available…but shh – that’s a secret.

Pierre Hardy Opens NYC Wonderland!

This Christmas New Yorkers received a very special gift…Paris-based Shoe Genius Pierre Hardy opened his 3rd store – obviously on the super chic Jane Street in NYC’s West Village. The designer worked with architects to come up with a space that he described as “comfortable and intimate—in a way feminine, but in a modern way. Not like the cliché of femininity. I’m a boy, and I like architecture, so I try to combine these two feelings.” A converted garage turned in to a dark, sleek wonderland of stilettos, complete with leather floors and glass smoked mirrors is definitely a must-see, even if just to window shop. Sexiest shop we’ve seen this side of the Hudson for sure.
