When underwear becomes outerwear: Garters…Runway to Real Way!

Garters very well may have been created as undergarments, but this season they are popping up as outerwear on everyone from runway models to A-listers to fashion icons. Our favorite interpretation is the leather garter, newly seen as a detachable part of the over-the-knee boot and recently found with pouches, as an alternative to carrying a bag (brilliant for a night out on the town). The latter was created in a number of options by SkinGraft and it is by far one of our favorite new accessories. Sexy yet tough, Utalitarian chic is back big time and this is definitely a way to stay on top of the trend. Check them out on Hunters & Gatherers!

We love Shopbop.com for many many reasons, one of the top few being their INCREDIBLE sales! We just discovered not one or two but hundreds of pieces from top brands on sale now for Under $100…many for WAY under! MKA: The Olsens Always Inspire!

MK & Ash have had their share of ups & downs, yet when it comes to style & fashion they always inspire us & we will remain forever fans. Here’s why…while many fashion icons have a great sense of personal style, their style can always be easily summed up by one word (often preceded or followed by ‘glam’ or ‘chic’): bohemian, hipster, rock(er), girlish, classic, whimisical, polished, vintage etc. etc. MKA however, is all of these things, sometimes, miraculously, even at once. With the fearless pair nothing is out of the question, yes they wear tattered over-sized tartan but with a Birkin bag; vintage paisley scarves and John Lennon sunglasses with a brand new studded Givenchy leather moto jacket; Giambatista Valli with a vintage clutch adorned with none other than a fur heart; the pieces are endless and the mix is always somehow not only forgivable but enviable…the mark of true fashion genius. Bravo.

If you haven’t yet had the experience of a true fashion orgasm, these shoes are about to do it for you…we are in absolute awe over this insanely fabulous shoe designer.  Giant sculpted platforms adorned with an array of studs & stones, colorful skins topping lug sole stilettos, ombre painted wooden heels, suede laces woven through molten gold shields, subtly studded leather fringe lining the top of an impossibly chic bootie…need we go on?   Never, until now, have we seen a designer bring together all elements of architectural design, high fashion trends, classic polish and over the top glamour, to create an entire collection of art work for your feet. With shoes like these, you could go naked and no one would notice.  We want, no we need, EVERY SINGLE pair.

L.L.Lovin Lace Nails!

We’re always looking for new signature nails…these lace lovelies are definitely unique and certainly stunners! Not to mention seriously easy to DIY. The lace is applied on the nail with a brush-on adhesive and then sealed with that same adhesive. The nails are then sprayed with a quick-dry glue, filed, then encased in gels. We are loving this look. (& The McQueen Clutch definitely doesn’t hurt either)

What’s Red, Yellow, Blue & Black All Over? Pre-Fall 2010!

Although you can never go wrong in black, it is so refreshing to see that the new Pre-Fall runways have mixed the staple color with pops of brights! Black is merely an accent, the real stars are Red, Yellow and Blue. Not only do we love that Pre-Fall 2010 is 10 times as bright as the last Fall season, but we love even more that all of the colors are being mixed with our forever favorite, super slimming neutral. Big bright coats, flirty separates and structural dresses definitely look better in color and as this is just a tiny preview of what’s yet to come, we cannot wait for Fall 2010!
