After discovering the incredible Brocade Home, it appears our wildest dreams have come true…we could design the entire interior of our dream apartment from just a single store. The home decor company’s merchandise is not only the most beautiful melding of our perfect style mix (think feminine romance meets swanky chic meets bourgeois french provincial) but their catalog is powerfully inspirational, each impeccably styled page could easily stand on it’s own as a work of art. Please trust us and order yourself a complimentary catalog asap at brocadehome.com! Whenever we’re in a gloomy mood, we just look at the pretty pages and miraculously feel fabulous again.

We don’t normally post about the same topic more than once, but we just couldn’t resist because our current muse, Miroslava Duma, just never gets it wrong! Fashion Week looks were simply perfection, obviously.

Christy Turlington…all we have to say is “Way to make a comeback, Christy!” After the debates over too-skinny no-name models, the takeover of the young up and comers, and the never-ending monopoly over the industry by the one and only Kate Moss, the original Super Models are making a comeback…Linda, Naomi, Claudia, and of course, the queen back on the scene, Christy. The new face of high fashion super stars like Escada, YSL and now Bally may not be fresh but she sure is a familiar favorite…lots of love to the brands who can admire and recognize a true classic. We hope to see you around for a while CT…lookin’ good!
Chloe has had its fair share of incredible designers…Phoebe Philo was great, Stella McCartney was greater and of course there is the greatest, Karl Lagerfeld. Whoever is pickin’ ‘em sure does not disappoint because after just a couple of seasons we have already fallen hard for the newest Chloe rock star, Hannah MacGibbon. In just one season, the fantastic head of the house has managed to incorporate every single one of the top trends in the most seamless, cohesive manner possible.
Harem pants, cutouts, jumpsuits, a-symmetrical cuts, leather shorts, over-the-knee boots, sharp shoulder blazers, the new new suit, bourgeois embellishment, I mean you name it, it’s there…and yet none of it has been seen before, this is the mark of a true fashion genius. Yet above all, on top of creating a collection that touches on every trend while managing to stay completly fresh, MacGibbon has done the ultimate in designer do’s by staying totally true to the look of the “Chloe girl.”
And this is why we heart, and really hope to keep around for a long long time, miss Hannah MacGibbon!

This is why we love V Magazine…we spend our lives desperately trying to express to those who just don’t get it how and why fashion is so much more than material that dresses your body, when done properly, IT IS ART…they do it with one simple (or not so simple) spread. Utilizing the magical creations of Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere, Prada, Miu Miu, Chanel, Jil Sander, Ann Demeulemeester, Giorgio Armani and Jean-Paul Gaultier, among others, stylist Olivier Rizzo and photographer Willy Vanderperre brilliantly turn a rack full of clothing and model Iris Strubeggar into a true work of art. Go V, you never let us down! For more check out vmagazine.com or grab it on stands after July 7th.
Every season is different, our tastes change, designers’ visions change, the trends change, it is nearly impossible to declare a favorite label, yet we always know that no matter what happens there are two designers that have never and we’re taking a chance in saying WILL never, let us down…Stella McCartney & Frida Giannini, L.L.C. loves you! The two manage to re-invent their runways time after time, keeping up with the ever changing fashion climate while remaining true to their roots, roots which have been inspired by a perfect combination of the three ideas we live & die for, vintage 60’s/70’s glamour, luxe bohemian & a little bit of rock ‘n roll chic. Since Frida came to Gucci and Stella created her namesake brand, things have never been the same, in the best way of course, and this time around they have made us proud once again with their fool-proof Resort 2010 collections. In each, there are immaculately crafted pieces that can be used to create any look from boyish casual to glam-rock goddess, offering something for everyone AND revealing recession-proof investment pieces that can be used over and over again in so many endless ways. We heart you S & F!

For many many seasons already, we have seen the infamous KM Gladiator and Love Sandal all over dedicated fans like Nicky Hilton and Courteney Cox but it is no doubt that this season the entire Matt Bernson Collection will fly off the shelves of top stores like Bergdorf and Scoop since the Tribeca based designer’s shoes have been spotted on everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson to Jessica Alba and Miley Cyrus! Each A-lister has found their perfect MB counterpart and if that isn’t enough to become a die hard of these fab one-of-a-kind shoes, get the runway hits (featured on the feet of Zac Posen, Walter & Julie Haus models) simply because they are gorgeous high fashion, high quality accessories at totally affordable prices! Be aware though, the KM’s always have a waitlist and the others don’t stay in stores for long so hurry before you have to wait for next Spring to rock the MB phenomenon.

Since I bought my first pair of incredible vintage clip-ons embedded with black and white crystals at my very favorite store, Revival in Roslyn, NY, I was hooked on Balmain. Soon after, I fell madly, deeply in love with a pale pink printed strapless dress adorned with an intricate beaded bodice on Kate Hudson…it was then that I realized my love affair with Balmain would last forever. From the 1950’s gown worn so elegantly by Penelope Cruz to the 2009 Micromini sported by Gwyneth Paltrow, Balmain has and always will set the trends and dress the best. Season after season my jaw drops from the fabulous embellishments making each Balmain look a showstopper. I’m patiently waiting to see what Christophe Decarnin has in store for S/S 2010!
